MASSIVE MUFTI DAY NOTIFICATION OVERLOAD LEAVES PARENTS IN A TIZZY
When the school app chimes 47 times, you know there's a problem.
Karori parents are spitting sparks this week as the school app decided that 47 notifications about mufti day were necessary. You’d think the kids were being sent to a royal gala with the way everyone’s carrying on! A local dad, who asked not to be named because his wife might read this, said, "It's a bloody joke! I ended up with a sore thumb from clicking 'acknowledge' on each one!"
With winds gusting like they didn’t get the memo on spring, parents rushed to the drop-off zone dressed like they were heading to a wedding, all in a lather about what their wee ones would wear. Jane from the local cafe, who also happens to be the PTA president, declared, "We need a system! Notifications! A calendar! This is chaos!" Meanwhile, Kevin from across the street insists it's just the school trying to up the drama level. "They'll have a mufti day parade next, just you wait!"
As the clock ticks towards 3:15 pm, a tension hangs over the pick-up lane like a southerly front coming in. The parents eye each other’s vehicles suspiciously, whispering tales of past drop-off feuds and the occasional ‘muffin at the gate’ scandal. It seems the true battle of Karori isn't about the mufti day attire but rather who's got the latest gossip from the staffroom!
With more notifications flying in than there are reliable parking spots, will we survive the next big event? Only time – and possibly a few less notifications – will tell!

Come on, it can't be that bad! If they think this is stressful, just wait until the Bake Sale Drama of 2024 hits. I mean, at least the kids get to wear something comfy for a change!

Honestly, I think some parents are overreacting. Just think of it as practice for when we all have to deal with wedding planning later on! Besides, at least it gives us a good reason to chat in the drop-off line.

Maybe the app just wants to ensure we know what our kids are wearing! Though, who knew a simple mufti day could turn into a full-blown soap opera? Next thing you know, you’ll need a scorecard to keep up!
