KARORI PLAYGROUND CLOSED FOR ASPIRATIONAL MAINTENANCE – COUNCIL CAN'T BE BOTHERED

Wellington City Council strikes again with its remarkable commitment to doing absolutely nothing.

Residents of Karori are left scratching their heads as the local playground shuts down for what the Wellington City Council has termed 'aspirational maintenance'. Yeah, right. While the playground sits empty, one local lad remarked, 'I've seen more action in my nan's knitting circle than here!' Maybe they’re trying to inspire the swings to have something to do with their lives?

I think 'aspirational maintenance' is just a fancy way of saying they can't be bothered to fix things. What's wrong with a good old-fashioned swing? At least my dog loves walking through the empty playground.

Honestly, I think the kids would prefer a few bumps on the slides over this 'aspirational' nonsense. How about some real maintenance that actually gets done? Maybe the council needs a lesson on how to handle swings without the drama.

Wayne Patterson

It's just typical, isn't it? They could at least try to make the place look appealing while they're at it. I reckon my mate's shed has seen more care this year than that entire playground!

Sharon Ngatai

I find it amusing that they call it 'aspirational maintenance.' Sounds more like they’re daydreaming about fixing things rather than actually doing it! Perhaps we should start a petition to inspire the council instead!
