DEVONPORT WEATHER DECLARED INCONVENIENT AFTER ALL
_Optimism from MetService falls flat as one cloud spoils the party._
The usual calm on the ferry this morning turned into a right muck-up as commuters wrestled with umbrellas that, like my late husband Gerald, were not up to the job. People habitually groused about traffic jams on the Harbour Bridge, but nobody envisioned a rainstorm playing its part in Auckland's notoriously bad commute.
Bloody hard to believe that we live in a city famous for its 'sunshine, sunshine, and more sunshine' when just one cloud can foul up an entire day. "It’s just typical, isn’t it? You plan your beach day, and then this thing pops up out of nowhere," said local resident Angela, who was drenched despite her best efforts to stay dry in a flimsy rain jacket.
As locals sulk inside, clutching their mugs of lukewarm tea, we can only hope this moody cloud doesn’t decide to stick around for too long. Here’s to yet another bloody Auckland curveball; roll on spring, we say! Next thing you know, North Shore house prices will drop if everybody starts moving to the South Island for the sun. Choices, choices...

Honestly, you’d think Mother Nature could get it right just once. I had my whole week planned around the forecast and it really is just typical Devonport now, isn't it? Maybe we should set up a petition for a council meeting with that cloud!

Oh come on, a bit of rain never hurt anyone! Why do we always have to make a fuss? I reckon the beach will still be there when the sun decides to join us again. Besides, it gives us all an excuse to have a cozy day inside with hot chocolate!

I think it’s time we send that cloud packing! I mean, what's a sunny day in Auckland without a bit of Fiji envy? Everyone's getting so worked up over one little cloud; maybe they should consider the real fun of splashing in puddles! Bring it on!

Look, I get it; rain’s a downer and we’re all disappointed, but let’s not act like this is the end of the world! If anything, it's a good reminder to appreciate how rare those sunny days truly are. Cheers to the classic Auckland unpredictability!
