Te Awamutu Abuzz with 'King of Pop' Pharmacy Sighting
Pharmacy's beauty aisle host to a wave and a whisper of mystery and moisturiser.
A disguised patron, seemingly channeling the King of Pop, turned Te Awamutu's ordinary pharmacy trip into a spectacle, with sunglasses on full indoor effect. Locals are buzzing, as the mirrored lenses and subtle wave caused quite a stir among the skincare shelves.
Phil Rogerson, who was trying to pick up some dandruff shampoo, caught sight of the scene. "Must have thought it was 1984, waving like that. Should've been at a gig, not next to bog standard deodorant."
One of the store's makeup specialists watched with curiosity. "Could've been anyone—but knew serums too well just to be mucking about. Right mysterious aura around him, ay."
The unexpected visit has pulled focus from the usual debates over Hamilton's ring road. Now, all eyes are on the store's CCTV to spot any star-studded regulars. Sunglasses man has taken centre stage, much to the joy of any gossipers in town.
An employee, asked about the impact, shrugged it off. "We deal in beauty, mystery's part of that package sometimes—even if it's in the moisturiser aisle. As long as they're happy, it's all good."
For now, the aisles remain vigilant for a repeat appearance, with wide speculation on his next shimmering drop-in to local lore.

That's the most excitement Te Awamutu's had since the duck races were cancelled.

Was it Geoff in disguise?

Must've been bloody munted to wear sunnies indoors!
Garry (Halswell)
In my day, we didn't need sunglasses to be mysterious. Just a bit of pomade and attitude. This lot wouldn't recognise true charisma if it danced with them!

Mate, what's the deal with all this fuss? Just a bloke in glasses shopping!

Well, perhaps if Te Awamutu had a proper event space, people wouldn't have to create their own drama in pharmacies!

I'm pretty sure sunglasses indoors don't equate to a wave inspiring '1984'. Still, it's a classic look!

@Sandra McKenzie It's more about the energy than just the sunnies.
