HENDERSON WAREHOUSE BOXING DAY SALE CITED IN THREE DIVORCE FILINGS, ONE PRANG ON LINCOLN ROAD

Family Court bracing for more once the air fryer queue clears.

A clearance sale at the Henderson Warehouse has been formally blamed for three marriage breakdowns and a 90-minute tailback on Lincoln Road that NZTA initially mistook for a crash.

Traffic was banked up from the Te Atatū off-ramp to the Kmart roundabout by 9.15am Saturday. One Waitākere driver said she'd been stuck long enough to finish her flat white and start regretting it.

Shanae Filipo, 34, of Sunnyvale, said her marriage ended in the small appliances aisle. "He said we didn't need a second air fryer. I said we did. He said 'where would we even put it' and that was that."

A second incident near the manchester section involved a husband walking off mid-argument. The wife bought the sheet set anyway, in his size. Staff confirmed a third couple had a very quiet conversation by the Nespresso pods and left in separate cars.

A Warehouse spokesperson said the sale was "performing strongly" and that staff were trained to de-escalate. "Some of these situations are above our pay grade, frankly." The constable on scene confirmed no offences, "unless you count what he said about her mother near the trampolines."

The sale runs until Monday. Lincoln Road does not.
