WAIROA HUMIDITY DECLARED 'HAIR HAZARD' AFTER THIRD FRIZZ INCIDENT THIS WEEK
One local's fringe reportedly blocked her vision on the main drag. Her flat white went cold.
Wairoa's morning humidity has hit what one hairdresser is calling "genuinely offensive" levels, with three frizz complaints logged at cafes since Monday.
Teacher aide Rhonda Kepa, 44, said her hair had "tripled in volume" between the car and the bakery. "Went in with a bob. Came out looking like I'd been electrocuted by a toaster. Girl behind the counter was too polite to say anything, bless her."
Barista Manaia at the corner cafe — does a cracking oat flat white, by the way — said she'd seen at least six customers arrive with frizz halos this week. "One lady walked in and I couldn't see her face! Asked if she wanted her usual and she said yes from somewhere inside it."
A MetService spokesperson said east coast humidity was "elevated but not unusual", and suggested residents "consider a serum". Asked which serum, they said that was outside their remit.
Hastings is reporting no such problems, which locals have described as "typical" and "probably a lie". Rhonda has booked a cut for Thursday and isn't leaving the house until then.

That's Wairoa for you!

Back in my day, we didn't whinge about our hair. We just slapped on a hat and got on with it. Rhonda should consider a beanie until Thursday.

If only hair frizz was the biggest worry we all had!

The council should fix this humidity issue! It's another conspiracy to force more people into buying expensive hair products.

Mate, humidity isn't something you can just fix. It's weather!

My frizz is on another level today as well. Wairoa weather is like living in a sauna!

Rhonda, I've tried that serum they recommend - it's crap. Just buzz cut it all off and be done with it!
couchgremlin
Lol, hair hazard.

I'm not surprised Hastings isn't having this issue. They're all about image over there. Probably lying about their humidity levels too.
